For those of you who read the original Chasing Taboo and have not yet heard, the original Chasing Taboo fan fiction is being take offline. Visit the tohosexy livejournal page for your last chance to download the original story. It will be permanently removed on July 9^th, 2009.

And one more thing! I will be at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California from Wednesday, July 1^st, until Monday, July 6^th, which means, you guessed it, Chapter 5 will be delayed until Monday, July 6^th. Anyone care for some guns and donuts? As soon as I saw this sign, I knew I was destined to share it with the world.

I spent the day in the bustling metropolis of Cumby, Texas, punching paper at the firing range with a wide assortment of weaponry. I got two bullseyes with a Colt .45 at 15 yards! Go me! Considering how little I managed to even hit the paper when I started out, I’m pretty excited.

I was starting to feel like if I was going to write about gangsters shooting each other I may, like, want to learn about guns. My stepdad gave me this crash course about all sorts of stuff a few weeks back, so last night we decided I was to tag along at his next visit to the range. So there I was, looking at Sig Sauer P229, a Sig Sauer Mosquito, a Ruger .22, a 357 Magnum, and a Colt .45. BANG!!

At first, my stepdad was like, ‘here’s how it works, keep your finger off the trigger until your ready to fire, careful blah blah blah.’ But the thing was, he was there to test out his rifles, so he couldn’t babysit me the whole time. Eventually, I had a row of five pistols in front of me and he said ‘have fun.’ He left me, alone, with these guns, with full permission to bang bang bang and play all I wanted. First time ever shooting pistols.

And…

IT WAS AWESOME!! BANG!! The Mosquito and I have a relationship, but dammit, why do 22s jam? And shooting the Colt 45 makes your ears go WTF? But ear protection is for pussies — Stone didn’t use no ear protection when he blasted Tei’wa’s knee cap, did he? I think not.

Olivia has made it to Club Lanka, where she meets a very interesting crew of dangerous boys… can you guess who? Now that our disgruntled ballerina has fallen into the rabbit hole of seduction and sin, whatever shall she do? Will she find what she’s looking for? Or does she even know what it is she’s seeking?

Today I went shooting to help do some research for the story. BANG! It was fun. I’ve developed a relationship with the Sig Sauer Mosquito. Maybe she will make an appearance later on…

Also, another bit of news: We have new character art on the way. Which character do you get to see in the flesh next? It’s a surprise!

I’ve pretty much been working on this since the second the prelude was posted. I hope you all like where the new CT is headed. It never ceases to amuse me – one of the main reasons I decided to edit a new version of Chasing Taboo was because the original version was far too long. That said, the original Chasing Taboo began at the night club, and here we are, two installments into the new so-called edit, and we haven’t even gotten to the club yet! I’m trying to do a better job of fleshing out the environment this time around, so hopefully while you read, you feel sucked into the Chasing Taboo world!
